The annual report Blythedale Costa Resort Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival
Although 2011 is still on schools and coastal land only open their doors later this week (January 19) Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival organizers are already working hard to ensure this year's tournament is the best yet.
Until recently, there was no Easter Rugby Festival for schools in Kwa-Zulu Natal, while sport has gained great momentum across the country and at least five annual festivals. Subsequently, the festival of Easter Kearsney rugby has become a much anticipated event calendar drawing support from their sponsors and the best schools across the country – and even an international player!
Participants at the event this year include probably the best line-up of college rugby Encore achieved in South Africa. In addition, in 2011, the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival coincides with the reintroduction of the Easter holiday tournament trip to Rovers Rugby Club in Durban, as Kwa-Zulu Natal, in the active area of rugby in April.
The festival will take place in the 21 (Thursday), 23 (Sat) 25 (Monday) April and increased the list of ten to twelve schools invitation to the 90th anniversary Kearsney College. It may be the Easter weekend and holiday time, but Kearsney College prepares for the arrival of hundreds of the best players Rugby School countries, their coaches and their families, and thousands of supporters of collegiate rugby.
Teams poll edition last year are: Marais Viljoen Hoërskool Dr. EG Jansen Hoërskool, Hoërskool Monument (Gauteng), Hoërskool Nico Malan, College Dale College Selborne (Eastern Cape), Glenwood High School, College Kearsney (Kwa-Zulu Natal) and Grey College (Free State). The organizers are very pleased to welcome participants for the first time: Helpmekaar Hoërskool (Gauteng) Gym Paarl (Western Cape) and the College of Christ (New Zealand).
