The change in the carburetor of my 1990 VW Golf makes no difference to power?
I have a 18-year-old VW Golf 1300cc. Has been cut on the road because the "carburettor icing" on a particular day when it rained. Furthermore, it has sometimes been cut in London because of probs that carbohydrates cause vibration (I was told that the carbohydrates needed to clean the dirt off of him). I think to change the carburetor, but I wonder if this could make a difference in the overall performance of the car. For example, climbing a steep hill is very low and I put in 3 games, even up to 45 mph. it would be to the carburetor, or I can assume that the engine is old and weak? The car has 109 thousand miles. I did a pressure test on it when I first time i, and found that one cylinder was slightly lower than that of others, but still within an acceptable range.
If you opt for a high performance carburetor, you can improve performance a little. Ask a mechanic, and if a high performance carbohydrate is available for the Golf. If you increase the odds CFM (cubic feet per minute), will be a little more HP and torque. So to find a carburetor that has a larger number of people who CFM is currently in it. However, first consult a mechanic. Can excess carbohydrates engine pretty easily. Size is not necessarily better. If the engine is old and tired, you may need to be rebuilt. How many miles is it? You can also to fine tune the car and slightly improve throttle response and horsepower. But again, a mechanic inspect your first car and diagnose the problem. If you can not have a carb after purchase, you can have your stock one rebuilt. If larger aircraft are available, can improve the power a bit by changing the carburetor jets. You can only have the carburetor rebuilt and cleaned professionally. Again, have a mechanic check it for you. Do not be fooled.
