Family Golf (1)
I did some interesting research on some of the famous golf family. You may very well appear that usually in public, but you know their families are also playing golf and some of them have made great achievements.
Former and Young Tom Morris
Old Tom Morris was a giant of the game that lived in the home of golf, St. Andrew. Born in 1821 (died 1908), worked as a player, green keeper, maker of golf clubs, abacus, the instructor and course developer. In fact, he was responsible for turning around the fortunes of San Andres, which had fallen into disuse during the 19th century.
His younger son, Tom Morris (1851-1875) first defeated his father the age of 13 years and together they form a formidable partnership in the team foursomes and fourballs that were popular in the 19th century.
The Haas family: Jay, Jerry, Jay Jr. and Bill (more Uncle Bob Goalby)
Where to start with one of the trees in most of the family? Probably the best way to start with Bob Goalby, the Masters champion miserable 1968. Why unhappy? Because his victory came after the Argentine Roberto DeVicenzo not realize that his playing partner Tommy Aaron had made a serious mistake to score on hole 17. Goalby poor may still have won the match, but his triumph was tarnished forever.
Goalby nephews were Brother Haas – Jay and Jerry. Jerry has played on the PGA European Tour and Travel at the national level, but never implemented and now coaches golf at the university.
Jay was a lot more good player, claiming nine titles on the PGA Tour (and no fewer than 14 tournaments Champions Tour over the last five years). His son Jay Jr. was also a good player, but never put in place in professional football, leaving the family inheritance to his brother, Bill has finally taken a long-awaited first PGA title at Bob Hope Classic.
The sister of Jerry and Jay (Jan) is also interested in golf – in her case because her husband is Dillard Pruitt, winner of the 1991 Chattanooga Classic PGA Tour.
In truth, the tree of the Haas family has a golf bag in the bottom of things.
Kevin Stadler and Craig
No combination father and son golf seems surprising that the walrus and baby walrus. Is it nature or acquired which allowed two mixed men attach greater weight to your pants so remarkably similar?
Jack Nicklaus and Gary
Many children of many golfers have trouble meet the expectations placed upon them by others. So imagine what it must be like being the son of Jack Nicklaus!
Gary is task Nicklaus' -. be the son of the man who won more races than any other (18) and was admired around the world a career of astonishing consistency Gary made a good fist of trying to be a player on the PGA Tour, but the odds are always stacked against him. In 2000 BellSouth Classic Phil Mickelson tied for first 54 holes before the rain ruined the event. A playoff was needed to determine the winner and Mickelson was one hole to win the title.
Julius Boros, Guy
Julio, who also won two U.S. Opens, said The PGA Championship 1968 when he was 48 years and seven years later, almost failed to win the Westchester Classic, finally being beaten by Gene Littler. A player with a natural talent, his son Guy was also an instinctive player, but admitted there was a difference.
